The Golden Pheasant
Portrait of a Golden Pheasant that chooses to live between the four walls of a monastery’s courtyard. Why would it choose to stay there if it could fly into the world and be free?
One day this bird came to a Dominican Monastery with his ladybird. Together they raised their offspring, which eventually flew away into the world and never came back. But the Golden Pheasant and his ladybird stayed. They never left this monastery, he even stayed after his lady bird passed away.
The Golden Pheasant died during the winter of 2009.
